Message from Faculty Member
Susana Espinoza, Externship Coordinator
The Clinical externship experience provides our students with the opportunity to practice the skills they have been taught in school. It’s a real-world experience in which the student will work with patients, doctors, and other members of the healthcare team. We prepare students for employment by providing supplemental training during the externship and help with resume and career services workshops. We encourage our students to prepare for the SPI and ARDMS credentials for a successful career.
Kind regards,
Alumni’s Testimony
Felicia Ford, 2022 Graduates
Hello, this is Felicia. I graduated from ATI College in March of this year and I am so thankful to this college. The teachers and the lab teacher, Mary, are beyond amazing. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be the ultrasound tech I am today! So thankful for everything at this school!
ARDMS Credential Pathways
The only means of earning an ARDMS credential is by examination. For the RDMS, RDCS, RVT, and RMSKS credentials, applicants must pass two
comprehensive examinations: (1) the Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) examination; and (2) at least one corresponding
specialty examination.
The examinations may be taken in any order but must be passed within five years of each other. Additional credentials can be earned without
re-taking the SPI examination (provided Active Status is maintained).

How to become an echocardiogram technician?
How to become an echocardiography technician
Here’s how you can start your career as an echocardiogram technician:
Complete an echocardiography program
Enroll in an echocardiography program. Many aspiring echocardiogram technicians enter programs at community colleges that can earn them an associate’s degree in echocardiography. However, you can also find echocardiography programs at vocational schools or certificate programs that can typically be finished within one year. Completing an echocardiography program can give you the skills and expertise you need
to succeed as an echocardiogram technician, like lab techniques, how to use ultrasound equipment, and analyzing diagnostics.
