ATI College October Newsletter

Message from Faculty Member

Paul Kim, Faculty

Dear students,

ATI College adopted the GoToWebinar as its online lecture platform since the inception of online lectures in hopes of providing a better learning environment for the students. Even though it has a very intuitive user
design, GoToWebinar is not a complicated platform for first-time users yet there are some features students may not be familiar with.

Therefore, I’m going to share brief in-session features that might help students while attending online lecture sessions.

(1) Mute and Unmute Yourself
By default, all attendees are muted when they join the webinar. If the organizer unmutes you, you can click the Mic icon to unmute yourself. To
grab the organizer’s attention, Raise Your Hand or ask a question.

(2) Raise Your Hand
You can grab the organizer’s attention by Raising Your Hand using the Hand icon. This will notify the organizer that you require the
organizer’s attention.

(3) Download Handouts
If the organizer uploads handouts, you can download them to your computer or Android device. If you’re on iOS device, you can preview
them in the Safari app.

(4) Ask Questions
You can ask the organizer questions any time during the webinar. Once the question is answered, it will display in the Questions pane. If you do not see the Questions in the pane, the organizer may have disabled the feature.

These are four basic features you can use in the GoToWebinar Control Panel. If you want to know more about the GoToWebianr features, click
the link https://support.goto.com/webinar/att-guide.

If you have any other IT-related issues that hinder your learning,
please do not hesitate to contact Paul Kim via email at paul@ati.edu for
support and assistance.

I wish you all the absolute best at ATI College and beyond!

Alumni’s Testimony
Nicole Pounds, 2019 Graduates

For my testimonial, I would like to say that the advice from the
instructors at ATI College has proven to help me obtain the success I have achieved thus far in my career, and for that, I will be forever
grateful. The friendships that were made during the program also provided great support for not only myself but for others as well. We
congratulated each other on each of our accomplishments and have gone
from classmates to colleagues. Thank you ATI College for preparing me to
have a meaningful career as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Ultrasound Certification | ARDMS

While medical ultrasound certification is not required in all states, most employers prefer that their ultrasound technicians hold licensure from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ® (ARDMS).

According to the ARDMS, “certification is a voluntary process and documents that an individual has met specific requirements and has the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform within a profession”.

Each state’s department of health sets its own requirements for state licensure. States such as Oregon, New Mexico, North Dakota, and New Hampshire require ARDMS certification, while other states are expected to do so in the future.

SPI Requirement

Physicians can now apply under the new ARDMS physician prerequisiteLearn more!

Whether you are a student applying to take the SPI examination prior to graduation or you are a sonography professional seeking an RDMS, RDCS, RVT and RMSKS credential, you must select a prerequisite pathway that best meets your education and clinical experience and apply under that prerequisite.

If the SPI examination is the first examination you are applying for, you can choose to apply under the SPI Examination Requirement pathway or you can apply under a prerequisite.  The SPI Examination Requirement just requires completion of a physics class or a physics review course (click below for specific details).  However, if you can meet the requirements of an existing prerequisite (1 through 5), you are encouraged to do so as future application processing will be faster and easier.
