GRADUATION RULES & REGULATIONS

GRADUATION PROTOCOLS, ETIQUETTE, SECURITY
By tradition, the Commencement ceremony is a formal, dignified event to honor the
achievements of graduating students. To help preserve the decorum of the event, it is requested
that guests exercise etiquette appropriate to the occasion. We ask that you please observe the
following:
● Be on time: Please plan to arrive at the venue one hour prior to the start of the
ceremony. This will give you enough time to park and walk to the ceremony venue.
● All graduates should be dressed appropriately; semi formal is preferred attire. Graduates
must be dressed in Cap and Gown with all accessories worn to complete their
graduation uniform. Accessories include: Stole, tassel, honorary cords and hoods for
bachelor grads.
● Cell phones should be turned off or operated in silent mode during the ceremony. Do not
speak on a cell phone or carry on a conversation during the ceremony as this prevents
others from hearing and enjoying the ceremony.
● Guests are asked to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner that demonstrates
respect toward their graduates, other guests and the speakers on stage.
● All Commencement participants will remain until the conclusion of the ceremony. We
kindly ask that guests remain until the conclusion of the ceremony as well.
● Please be considerate and clean up after yourself.
● Professional photographers and videographers are prohibited


PERMITTED AREAS

● All graduates and commencement personnel must display proper wristbands to be
permitted in authorized areas.
● Only graduates and Commencement personnel will be permitted in graduate areas
before the ceremony.
● No children or guests will be permitted in the graduate seating or on stage.
● All candidates should plan to meet their guests outside the venue after the ceremony.
● Guests will be asked to exit to meet their graduates so we can prepare the theater for
janitorial services and cleaning.

 

PROHIBITED ITEMS

● No outside food or beverages of any kind (including bottled waters and or snacks)
● No Alcohol beverages of any kind, No coolers, No drugs of any kind
● Smoking, including e-cigarettes is prohibited in all venue structures
● All Bags or purses exceeding 4.5in x 6in MUST BE CLEAR BAG
● CLEAR BAGS: Guests are only permitted clear bags, no larger than 16×16”, to enter
the ceremony venue.
● No banners, Large signs, Big head posters,
● No beach balls, frisbees, bubbles, silly string, glitter, confetti, laser pens, and drones
● No weapons of any kind (Penal Codes 30.06 and 30.07 enforced)
● No non-service animals
● No monopods, tripods and selfie sticks
● No wrapped gifts


SECURITY
There will be a walk-through security screening system for both graduates and guests before
entering the venue.
All bags are subject to search by event staff. For security purposes, all attendees are
encouraged to keep items to a minimum.

For graduates:
Graduate Checklist

  1. Complete Registration Form & process payment for registration.
  2. Order cap & gown through student portal sent by school faculty member via email.
  3. (Optional) Send all evidence of license registry for review and eligibility for honorary cords email documentation to adconcollege@gmail.com. Please see the Honor cords tab.
  4. Purchase any additional tickets if needed prior to June 12, 2025 cut off date for sales of administration tickets.
  5. On the day of graduation attend Graduation rehearsal on time.
  6. On day of graduation arrive early in appropriate Regalia
  7. On day of graduation upon arrival report to the graduate check in table for wristband and check in.
  8. Remember to bring on the day of graduation. Cap, Gown, Tassel, Honorary Cords.

Graduation Participation Qualifications

Students must complete all required courses and modules listed in the program catalog and fulfill the necessary extern-ship hours. If you have any concerns about your eligibility for graduation, we encourage you to email student service for verification. Please refer to guidelines below from our program requirements.
-Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Sonography with Concentration in Healthcare Administration
2,815 Total Clock Hours, 120 Total Semester Academic Credit
-Ultrasound Technology
2,140 Total Clock Hours, 81.5 Total Semester Credit
-Echocardiography
2,170 Total Clock Hours, 82 Total Semester Credit

Graduation Participation Qualifications

ELIGIBLE EXTERN-SHIP STUDENTS:
Students who are completing extern-ship hours in the month of June 2025 during our commencement month are authorized by the Program director to participate in the 2025 graduation ceremony. Please be advised: After participating in the graduation ceremony, students are required to return to their assigned sites to complete the remaining required hours. Failure to do so, or to fulfill all necessary appointments with school administrators to finalize your program completion, will result in not receiving your certification diploma. Extern-ship students who desire to participate in the graduation ceremony must complete the graduation checklist. Please refer to the graduation checklist.

Honor Cords:

Students that have passed ARDMS specialty or SPI are honored by ATI College with a honorary cord. Eligible students must provide current specialty license/SPI certificate as proof of documentation for eligibility on receiving an honorary cord. Please email all documentation to adconcollege@gmail.com for review. You will be contacted by the coordinator for further instruction on pick up appointments.

Cap and Gown Information:

Once students have completed full registration, including processing the payment, you will be contacted by the Graduation Coordinating Committee with further instructions on cap and gown ordering procedures. The cost of the cap and gown is an additional fee beyond the registration fee.
● Students completing certificate programs will receive a cap and gown packet, including cap, gown, tassel with year emblem, and graduation stole, for $56.60
● Students completing Bachelor’s programs will receive a Bachelor’s packet, including cap, gown, tassel with year emblem, graduation stole, and Bachelor’s hood, for $85.00
Please note that the deadline for cap and gown orders is May 14, 2025. We want to ensure all participants have sufficient time to order and receive their graduation regalia prior to the day of ceremony.
We encourage all graduates to dress professionally and appropriately for the occasion, as attire worn under a graduation gown should reflect the dignity of the ceremony

For Guest:

Parking and Map
Parking at Whittier Community Church (WACC) is complimentary and no permits are needed during commencement ceremony hours for graduates and their guests. You may use any parking space designated for the commencement ceremony except those reserved for disabled parking, service vehicles or other marked parking spaces reserved for staff and administrators. assistance and direction so please follow directions from event staff on-site. Accessible parking and Mobility assistance disabled parking for ceremony is available and will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. Drop-off Areas for disabled/elderly passengers will be parked in front of the parking lot. Please see the Map below for parking and building entrance references.
